PUBLISH DATE: 29 DEC 17
REVIEW DATE: 29 JUL 19
We are sorry that your time with the British Armed Forces is up. We wish you'd stick around with us a bit more or reconsider this decision you're about to make. If you're adamant on your decision to cut your stay here at the British Army then you are required to post your resignation to let us know that you're no longer with us.
Minimum Time of Service
Every soldier must serve a minimum of 14 days before they resign or retire in order to receive an honourable discharge. Failure to serve the minimum of 14 days will result in an automatic dishonourable discharge.
Rescinding resignation
Once you've posted your resignation you will be given a period of 24 hours to rescind your resignation. If you rescind your resignation within this given time frame you're able to return to the British Army without a rank deduction. Even though you will not get a rank deduction, this will reset your time in grade and you will be removed from your Career Path(s). To rescind your resignation, you are to post under your resignation as a reply informing us you wish to reverse this discharge. If you've been banned off our forums before your time frame has expired, then you are to contact the Chief of the General Staff (CGS), Assistant Chief of the General Staff (ACGS), Military Secretary (MILSEC) or the Director of the Army Personnel Centre (DAPC). To regain your position within your Career Path(s), you must contact your respective department leader(s). Furthermore, you are only permitted to use your right to rescind your resignation once within 31 days. If you resign more than once within the same 31 day period, you may only rejoin through the reinstatement process as defined in Garrison Standing Order 6 (Reinstatement and Discharge Statuses).
